Rankin County Agricultural High School presents Mrs Tubbs of Shantytown a three act comedy on Saturday April 27 with a large cast led by Ella Ree Myers Pauline Kincaid and Inez McDonald staged by Maude Antoinette Lewis. Commencement Sunday April 28 includes Joy to the World scripture reading Rock of Ages chorus and a sermon by Dr Looper. Class Day Exercises Monday April 29 features History of Class of 18 class poem and flag ceremony. Graduates perform in the evening with prize essays and recitations followed by seniors songs.
Star High School presents graduation ceremonies over Friday Saturday and Sunday with programs including chorus salutatory class history and prophecies. Agnes Steen Tom Barlow and Rev. M O Patterson deliver diplomas as students perform piano duets solos and expressions marking the events across the weekend.
A historical program listing pupil performances includes Little Peter's Parley Little Torment and The Origin of the Flag staged with music and a commemoration sermon. The schedule features piano solos, declamations, pantomimes, and a 2:00 PM junior speeches lineup with a 25 cent admission for a Saturday program at Wesleyan Methodist church.
