Junction dispute between railways heard in Mississippi court
The Jackson & Railroad and Alabama & Vicksburg Railway dispute over a junction near Curran's crossing in Pearl River swamp was heard by Chancellor Tawn in Meridian last Saturday and the injunction dissolved. The case is on appeal to the Supreme Court as both sides debate the best junction site while North Rankin residents push for rail access. Health officials complete Rankin County school examinations
The Child Welfare and Tuberculosis Field Service finished exams for Rankin County schools not closed before March. Closed schools will be examined within six weeks. Trustees receive letters with exam dates and must ensure pupil attendance by 9:30 A.M. at Shady Dell April 24 Lodobar April 25 and Shiloh April 26.
