Killed In Battle With Officer Del Dio Texas
Private John Wade of Company 24th Infantry, a negro regiment, was killed here during an arrest of 16 negro soldiers who had caused a disturbance in a restricted district. Three attackers fought the officers. Wade jumped Barler, who fired in self defense, killing Wade instantly.

Mrs Anna Busch Dies In Pasadena Hospital at 78
Los Angeles report states Mrs Anna Busch sister of Mrs Adolphus Busch of the St Louis brewing family died after a two month illness at Pasadena Hospital. Survived by her sons Otto S and Frank S M Busch and her daughter the Baroness von Kleydorff. Born in Berlin she was 78 and had recently been in France avoiding the war before coming to the United States.

Germans Attack Line Near Verdun Repulsed By French
Paris reports French officials say German assault from Avocourt to Cumieres was repulsed with heavy losses after the Bethincourt salient evacuation April 8. French artillery targeted enemy communications in Argonnes while heavy batteries shelled Montfaucon Nantillois area and a mine near Hill 285 cratered enemy trenches. The battle extended along the Avecourt to Gumieres front and even into the eastern Meuse bank before the new French line was established along the western slopes and Forges Brook northeast of Haucourt.

Harrison Indicted for Accessory After Train Robbery
Charles Harrison, held by post office inspectors, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Atlanta on charges of being an accessory after the fact in the Central West Virginia train robbery of Oct. 8, 1915, where over $100,000 in unsigned bank notes were stolen.
