County fair struggles blunt first day turnout
Our county fair attracted poor attendance on opening day with only average numbers on the second. Management blamed the low turnout despite an excellent program including broncho and boy’s pony races, a half mile trotting race, and a half mile running race. Exhibits were small but fine with several merchant displays. The fair failed financially due to an expensive Saturday program and shops not closing as promised.
