Wedding Row Ends With Knife Attack and Fine
At John Westlund lund’s in Southeast Brainerd a dispute over a loan led to Westlund striking bridegroom John Nyman with a table knife during a drunken melee. Nyman injured but the couple proceeded. Westlund was fined $15 and bound to keep the peace in municipal court.

A surprise wedding took place Tuesday evening at the home of Mr and Mrs Ed White in Brainerd. Miss Kate White and Mr Clarence Grenell were wed in a quiet ceremony in the sitting room with Rev J A Rowell officiating. The couple will begin housekeeping on Sixth Street North. The bride is well known locally. the groom has worked for the Northern Pacific. his family is connected in the East to Senator Mitchell. A social note follows about a large U B R K P ball with about 200 couples attending and decorative white lilies. Letterer finds suspected killer's body near Pine Lake
Andrew Ayerson reports finding a man about thirty five near Pine Lake ten miles from Freeport five miles from Sebeck's post office. The man appears to have killed himself with a knife, clutching a blade and leaving letters from Montgomery Ward Co and a contact note. Police suspect John Pflum, murderer of Mrs Komestisch, may be the deceased, though foul play is considered possible.

Aitkin reports about two weeks of diphtheria with twenty cases and six deaths. The board of health orders isolation for exposed individuals and closes all public meeting places. Public school halted for two weeks as three health officers are appointed and a St Paul doctor joins local staff. Nurses are being sought statewide to bolster the response.
