Overland Tea Company Opens San Francisco Branch
The Overland Tea Company of San Francisco opens a branch at the old Postoffice stand Sixth street. Each can contains a souvenir such as gold and silver watches and gems. After ten days the souvenirs are dropped and prices stay the same. Orders by mail are filled from Brainerd Minnesota with quantity pricing.

Lumberman loses watch to city sharks on Third Street
John Agnew, a timberman, left Ort's saloon intoxicated and boasted of 2500 in his pocket. A group lured him to Third Street houses of ill repute where his watch was stolen and later returned after a short arrest, as officials vowed to curb local sharks and gamblers.

Memorial for Mr Fleming in East Brainerd
The community mourns the death of Mr S P Fleming from heart disease at his East Brainerd home after a six week illness. Born July 31 1845 in Malone New York he spent years in Minneapolis and Blue Earth City before settling in this city. He served as alderman third ward and was a Mason. survived by his wife and three children. His body was shipped to Malone for burial accompanied by his wife and brother.
