Company halts drilling near Glacier National Park
A Colorado firm, Anschutz Exploration, will stop drilling near Glacier National Park after 14 wells and over a decade of work yielded insufficient resources. The decision, described as business driven, comes as conservationists raise concerns about hydraulic fracturing, water quality, invasive weeds, and light pollution. The tribe seeks Canadian buyers to take over leases while five producing wells remain active and reclamation proceeds.
