New England braces for coastal flooding from winter storm
The storm swept from the Midwest to New England bringing snow rain strong winds and high waves. Scituate Massachusetts saw 2 to 2 1/2 feet of water and 12 streets closed as two more high tides were anticipated. Evacuations were advised and some beachfront areas were ordered to leave. Coastal flood warnings extended along east-facing shores with surges up to three feet. Massachusetts Cape Cod faced beach erosion and other towns reported crashes and weather-related incidents as the storm affected several states.
