Death of Brainerd brakeman in logging train wreck near camp
Andrew Swanson a brakeman for Brainerd & Northern Minnesota was killed Tuesday afternoon at 2 while on a logging train bound for camp 8 near Birch Hill. The inquest found he died when a train split in two after a link broke and he was thrown beneath the wheels. The jury exonerated the railroad company from blame. He was married and his wife was seriously ill. The body was buried in Evergreen cemetery and Northern Mill Co. assisted.
