Love and daring in Bandons tale of Rory and Eveleen
In Bandon Ireland, Eveleen a poor beauty attracts many suitors. Rory O Keeffe, a carpenter, wins her heart while rival Donald McCarthy schemes. Rory is jailed for treason against the Young Ireland Club, transported to Australia, and Eveleen appeals to the Prince of Wales who rewards Rory’s heroism. The prince vows to help Rory, Eveleen and her mother pursue reunion, and Rory later returns as a prosperous carpenter after a dramatic rescue and reconciliation.
