Minneapolis Tribune Ponders Census Confusion and Bond Values
The Minneapolis Tribune quotes a playful 19th century census hypothesis arguing if St. Paul and Minneapolis had different population totals their bond values would rise. It imagines two city populations 185 000 and 143 000 in one city and 180 000 and 220 000 in another, then concludes bonds would be worth more once the dispute ends.
