A massive blaze Saturday night swept through a thriving city district shrinking two blocks of shops and hotels. Firefighting efforts were hindered by a wind storm and water pressure failures, but dynamite use helped save the Commercial Hotel while extensive damage and a total loss tally emerged for multiple buildings on Fifth Front Fourth and Laurel streets.
