W H Hallett is re appointed as Cass county commissioner. Minneapolis West Superior follow Brainerd's lead and gamblers must go. Little Falls Water Power Co raises capital to one million dollars in 10 000 shares of 100 each.
Thomas Carey of Brainerd Minnesota sought his wife in Superior and, with police help, found her at Windsor hotel with Dan Kelly of Tower. They registered as Mr and Mrs McPherson. In municipal court Judge Steel fined them $100 each plus costs, Kelly paying. The trio left town after the trial.
Telegram from La Prairie reports hematite ore strike in the Buckeye mine on Section 36, Town 55, Range 36 at fifty feet. Ledge drilled four feet shows deeper ore improves. stockholders Gen J H Baker, Hon W W Braden, Gen B R Cowen plan to inspect Gogebic machinery and send 150 workers, aiming to build a road to the eight mile mine.
Green Isle village council in Sibley county faced indictment after a grand jury session. The council had seven saloons and hired each proprietor as a sworn policeman at 300 dollars, to monitor their own saloon, a bold evasion of the five hundred dollar annual license.
