Sleeper Opera House Burns in Massive Brainerd Fire
A devastating blaze Sunday afternoon destroyed the Sleeper opera house and damaged Con O Brien's store in Brainerd Minnesota. The wind drove flames toward O Brien's stock and millinery shop while residents fought to save remaining buildings. O Brien plans a new one story brick block with modern features and steam heat at Sixth and Laurel. The county poor farm report argues the facility saves taxpayers about a thousand dollars yearly.
