Nels Oving reports his winter wages stolen near the Last Turn saloon by three men. Robert McNaughton Phillip Howard and Henry McGraw are jailed awaiting grand jury action after Oving’s tale of being lured into the woods and robbed of 20.50 dollars. Howard says he witnessed the incident but feared aiding Oving.
The Ladies Aid Society of the First Congregational church will open a fine new organ next Friday evening February 27 with an organ recital. A leading musician from St Paul will join Brainerd’s best talent to present a top entertainment. Proceeds fund the instrument payment.
A Wednesday sleigh ride hosted by Dan Smith and H J Spencer preceded a domino party celebrating Miss Nellie Emerson of St Paul. Guests included D D Smith and wife H J Spencer and wife H Spalding and wife A V Snyder and wife and others. Prizes were awarded to Miss Irma Camp and Mrs A V Snyder for ladies and D D Smith and Dr Camp for gentlemen. Elegant refreshments followed a very pleasant evening.

Olson and McCallum establish woolen department at the Walker Building offering cloth by the yard at wholesale prices with the largest stock west of Minneapolis. They push plaster Plastico, furniture, wall paper, carpets, harness goods, and a full hardware crockery line as part of a closing out sale with unmatched bargains.
Notice of foreclosure on the mortgage dated December 17 1898 by Joseph Miller to Sarah Rotynsen, then assigned to K G Spaulding and later to Max Shapiro. The sale by Crow Wing County Sheriff at the Brainerd courthouse front door on April 6 1891 to satisfy due amounts, interest and costs for the land described in Section 6 Township 44 Range 28.
