In New York the Minnesota Bishop Ireland drew about 5000 to Panhellenic Hall where he urged strict enforcement of Sunday liquor laws and restricted sales to minors and habitual drunkards. He condemned the liquor trade as undermining American liberty and urged civic action to combat it.
Special from Grand Forks reports a double murder in Strabane county near Larimore along the St Paul Minneapolis Manitoba line. Mrs C G and her six year old son were found murdered in bed with an axe and knife. a hired man George Miller is missing with a team, and another man McCaffery was arrested. motive appears to be theft of a few hundred dollars.
Minnesota earned the grand sweepstakes premium for butter with a gold medal and 150 dollars.
