A severe rail collision near Tamarack yesterday killed brakeman Kline and seriously injured D W Travis who suffered crushed arms and scalded head and body. Another injured, O W Holmes, survived to report details before burial in Mer rillan Junction, Wisconsin. A second St Cloud smash at dawn involved an N P freight and a Hinckley bound train. fog blinded engineer Jenee of N P who jumped as a precaution with the fireman, saving their lives.

Dining Car Line to the Pacific Coast Expands Schedule
The Northern Pacific Railroad announces a new timetable effective Nov 20 1887. Key changes include twelve hours faster St Paul to Helena and Butte and twenty four hours shorter to Portland Tacoma and other coast points. An additional through express with Pullman sleepers dining cars emigrant sleepers departs St Paul at 8 am daily for Helena Butte Missoula Spokane Falls and Eastern Washington, five hours quicker than the former coast express. Three daily express trains from St Paul and Minneapolis to Moorhead Fargo and Jamestown include through sleepers to Grand Forks Fergus Falls Wahpeton and other North Dakota points.
