A detailed railway timetable lists multiple trains between St Paul and Jamestown with arrivals and departures across routes to Wahpeton Duluth Superior and Ashland. It notes merged services, through sleepers to the Pacific, daily operations and occasional Sunday exceptions, plus freight trains carrying passengers but with uncertain reliability and possible cancellations without notice.

Crow Wing county selects I A White to construct a new poor house at the county farm in Oaklawn. Bids opened last Saturday show costs for a main 28 by 60 foot section with 20 foot posts and a 24 by 32 foot addition with 10 foot posts, plus a two ward upper story and separated lower floors. The two story, brick or stone basement complex includes a kitchen dining area and a 32 by 8 foot portico. completion is slated in about sixty days.
The Catholic fair ended Saturday evening, clearing 1100 for the society. Prizes awarded by vote included a toilet case won by Maggie Meekins, a gold ring won by Nora McCormick, a broom won by theviot, and a washing machine donated by Mrs Bannan won by George N. Day, with respective receipts 455 85 140 and 20.

In Minnesota Crow Wing County Probate Court on August 8 1888 Irma Camp Bind Samera petitions to admit the will of Mary A Camp deceased proved in county and letters testamentary issued. Hearing set September 15 1888 at 2 pm at the Probate office with three weeks of notice by publication in Brainerd Dispatch.
