W C T U Vows to Push Work and Readings
At the Tuesday meeting on August 24 the W C T U passed a resolution to continue their work at the same location. They urged gratitude to supporters and asked the secretary to distribute copies to the press. A Cleveland 1874 W C T U resolution is cited and a gospel meeting is set for Sundays at 4 PM in the reading room, with all invited.

Brainerd Teachers Exam Set For Aug 31 at High School
The city of Brainerd will hold teacher examinations Tuesday August 31 at 9 am in the high school building. Primary applicants will be tested in arithmetic grammar reading writing A S history geography and teaching theory. Intermediate candidates in algebra physical geography physiology hygiene and more. Certificates require 70 percent average and no more than three failed subjects. graduates from advanced normal schools exempt from exams.

Mrs. Peter Monroe will visit Canada next Monday to tend property. Engineer Bartlett Murry shows joy over a newborn girl last Wednesday. A crowd of mill workers went to Brainerd to lynch Hugh Dolan, but the Sheriff kept him safe. the incident drew local strong feelings.
