New Wholesale Grocery House Planned in Brainerd

Hon Werner Hemstead J F McGinnis and W H Cleary announce a ten year lease of ground at 4th and Front Streets Brainerd to build a solid brick block 100 by 75 feet two stories with basement. The firm Cleary McGinnis Hemstead will operate as Cleary McGinnis & Hemstead supplying northern Minnesota. ready by July 1 with 40 50 thousand dollars stock and three men on road.

Brainerd Plans Opera House and City Hall

A proposed solid brick building to be located on Front street between 5th and 6th would serve as opera house with 800 seating and a city hall with offices and vaults. Subscriptions form a stock company to fund construction with city lease terms of five years and no tax burden. The plan, by A F Ferris and Geo D LaBar, awaits council approval amid strong citizen enthusiasm.
