First steam heated cars arrive on Northern Pacific at Duluth
The first train of steam heated cars arrives in Duluth yesterday under Conductor Lou Hall. The consist includes an engine, combination mail and baggage car, smoker and ladies coach. Steam is supplied directly from the locomotive to ordinary radiators in each car with brass knuckle joints and rubber hoses connecting the cars. Provisions exist for condensate discharge and the train will be kept on the east end of the Minnesota division between Brainerd and Duluth for now.
