The Northern Pacific shops in Brainerd will be enlarged doubling capacity with additions to machine and car shops. Plans approved by President Mellen include 250000 for new buildings and 50000 for machinery, contracts to be let soon and work to finish this summer. Brainerd’s status as chief company manufacturing point is emphasized by the expansion.

Committed death by own action Lizzie Rogers
Mrs. Lizzie M. Rogers wife of Frank M. Rogers a farmer living between Lake Edward and Pelican Lake in town 135 range 28 section 2 committed death by own action on Tuesday morning by taking strychnine. Her husband found her dead on the bed after returning home about supper time. No inquest was held. She was 18, recently married, and their home was comfortable. Remains sent to Clark's morgue for burial with funeral at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. J. A. Johnson.

Brainerd Lumber Co Plans Spring Mill Start Next Week
The Brainerd Lumber Co will begin sawing next Wednesday with a Tuesday test run to check all systems. If lake ice allows, active work starts the following morning, expanding from winter already strong in sales and stock. About 200 workers kept yards active. by full operation 600 will be needed through fall. Carl E. Taylor and his son Charles visit, with Charles taking a naval cadetship examination.
