McCulloch County Mourns Two Community Leaders
Two of McCulloch County’s notable citizens died recently Richard Moseley a ranching and banking leader in Rochelle and A H Red Floyd a longtime adviser to youth and a helper at the Multi Purpose Center in Brady Floyd died suddenly of a heart attack. Floyd contributed to Rochelle history and the Bicentennial edition with Russ Holland visiting for the funeral and noting Holland’s retirement life in Kingsland.

The Brady Jubilee Association hosts the final weekend of the Fall Race Meet at G. Rollie White Downs with larger fields expected from Midland and Lubbock. Saturday features a % mile race open to thoroughbreds and quarter horses. Sunday offers three quarter horse races the Futurity, Classic, and Championship. Post time 1:30 p.m. Entries closed Thursday. Dodds Elected Chamber President Replacing Morgan in McCulloch Co
Ann Dodds was elected Tuesday as president of the McCulloch County Chamber of Commerce to fill the term of Don Morgan who resigned. Morgan moves to Longview. Officers named include L. B. Cox first vice president Charles Samuelson second vice president and Dannye Calley treasurer Barbara Smith named director. Retiring Morgan to be honored with a 10:30 a.m. coffee at the chamber office Tuesday. All members and interested persons invited.

Swine Flu Shots Postponed Clinic in Brady Delayed
The swine flu immunization clinic at Brady Schools Cafeteria scheduled for Sunday September 19 has been postponed to late October. The Texas Department of Health says the vaccine will first go to persons six years and older who are chronically ill. Date and location will be announced later.
