Fossils Mistaken For Caliche At Brady Site
Paleontologist Wendell Stewart from Midland explains the chalky Caliche Hill fossils near Brady are oyster shells from 127 million years ago. He and wife LaVelle visited Brady after studying geologic formations north to the Colorado River. Nearby, Smokey the German Shepherd, stolen in a 1948 Brady burglary, is recovered with James Allen Tarleton State College student and owner.
