Baylor receives Browning statue as Miss Tauch honored

Dr. Waldine Tauch received a standing ovation at Baylor University in Waco as a bronze statue of Browning’s Pippa was unveiled. The Brady Tuesday Club funded the statue with Baylor ex-students John L. Jones and Erin Bain contributing the rest. Governor Price Daniel spoke at the ceremony before 1,000 attendees.

Scenic Theatre Here Leased to Sunray Couple

The Scenic Drive-In Theatre in Brady was leased this week to Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bell of Sunray Texas who will manage the site with their two daughters. Bell has 27 years in theater and plans improvements and a new operating policy. The previous owners Mrs. Kirkeby and Rh A Erickson will focus on their Abilene drive-ins.

Melvin at Rochelle in McCulloch County Week Of Play

Friday night features the Melvin Bulldogs at Rochelle for the game of the week in District 21-B. Rochelle hosts homecoming with a 6:30 p.m. barbecue in the lunchroom, game at 7:50 p.m., tickets 75 cents adults 50 cents students.
