The McCulloch County Unit of the American Cancer Society held its annual meeting at Richards Memorial Library. Officers for 1967 68 are President Mrs PD Pence Jr Vice president Mrs Maxine Samuelson and Secretary Treasurer Frank Roddie Jr. New board members include Stan Wallace Mrs Howard Creamer Mrs E J Scott Mrs Wealey Ikenhower and Gerald Hultman. The retiring president Mrs Hobby McMurry reviewed 1966 67 highlights and praised helpers. A film Take a Number was shown and refreshments served.

The Texas Muzzle Loading Rifle Association hosts its 21st annual championship June 9-11 at the Kenneth Medlock Range in Brady Lake. Over 100 shooters from across Texas and entrants from Oklahoma Ohio and Colorado compete in 60 matches with medals and aggregates for several categories. Permanent trophies awarded for top three in each aggregate, with custom and authentic muzzle loaders used and some participants in period costumes.
