New Brady Garden Club officers were installed at a Wednesday luncheon. Leaders include president Mrs F J Brock treasurer Mrs Spencer Engdahl and vice president Mrs Lee Roy Reese. Installers included Mrs Nehard Moseley with reporters Mrs Fred Loblin and Mrs Jim Ellison observing.
The Sorosis Club celebrated Brady High School honor students and Senior Future Teachers of America with a tea Tuesday night. Guests were greeted by club president Mrs. M. R. Willhelm and incoming president Mrs. R. L. Akins. Students received mortar board earrings inscribed BIS, music by high school vocal groups, and rose centerpieces with pink and green colors.
The XI Theta Epsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met May 4 at Mrs Jack Kyzar’s home to install officers for 1966 67. New officers are Merle Granville president Ann Dodds vice president LaNell McCollum recording secretary Dorothy Kyzar corresponding secretary Dorothy Hunt treasurer Lucille Huffman extension officer. Refreshments were served by Mrs Kyzar and co hostess Lucille Huffman to the officers and Mimes Bernice Roddie Anna Lou Whitesell Mary Ella Williamson and Jean Huffman.
Miss Lynda Olszewski daughter of Anthony and Mrs Olszewski of Cleveland Ohio became the bride of David Maslowski April 6 at SS Peter and Paul Church. The bride is granddaughter of Essie Wilson of Cleveland formerly of Brady and niece of Lorene Porter of Brady. The bridegroom is son of Adam and Mrs Maslowski of Monroeville Pennsylvania.
Brady Cub Scout Den 4 with den mother Mrs Daymon McBee visited Richards Library. Members Randy Young David Whitworth Ward Williams Grady Adams Mark Lemons Andy McBee Mike Hughes Dan Turner Mike Gibbs and Kyle McBee joined the tour exploring books and library arrangements.
Mrs. Tommy Wallace, a recent bride, will be honored at a bridal shower on Tuesday May 10 from 2 to 4 pm at 105 N. College the home of Mrs. Jimmy Wisher. Co hostess is Mrs. Dennie Short and invited guests include friends and relatives.
The Women of the Church met in the Parish House and elected officers for the coming year: President Mrs. Clifford Grubbs, Vice-president Mrs A B Trammell, Secretary Mrs Robert Roddie, Treasurer Mrs Frank Roddie Sr. They planned events for the ordination of Bryan Crocker who will graduate from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in June and be ordained at St. Paul’s Church likely in July. The group will present three liturgical color stoles for his vestments.
