Swedish-born Brady resident Mrs Bratt dies at 79
Mrs John Bratt a Sweden native and longtime McCulloch County resident died at 12 20 Thursday morning after several weeks illness. She was 79. Funeral services will be at 3 p m Friday June 11 at Wilkerson Chapel with Rev Bertil Thorne of Elgin officiating Burial in Rest Haven Cemetery. Survived by son Alvin Midland five daughters Aliie Anderson Stanton Astrid Casheer Midland Bernice Jones Ruby Pratt Brady Eunice Maxwell San Angelo 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren Pallbearers are Carroll Anderson Thomas Jones Mike Casheer Wilbur Ray Casheer Eddie Maxwell Johnny Jones.

Two new lake homes are under construction at the Simpson club members addition. Glenn Kittle's house will feature paneled living and dining rooms, two bedrooms with baths, carport, storage, central heating and refrigerated air, and a masonite exterior with volcanic rock trim. A large fireplace is being built in the living room. T. P. Wood has completed a modern lodge with a central wood grill and is open for inspection. Johnny Miller is building a story and a half home with ground floor bedroom kitchen living room and upstairs a large bedroom, two baths, central heating and air conditioning. Ralph Neal is assisting. cedar siding covers the outside walls. Dr. Jerry Wood and family were the first to finish a home at the addition and now live there with a new big room and storage area.

Young Readers Eye Certificates at Richards Library
The F. M. Buck Richards Memorial Library summer reading program nears its second week with about 1150 young readers working toward state reading certificates. Brady Resident Geis MD Dearee Ryan II Receives MD
Dr. Ryan II receives his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in a June commencement. He and his wife’s parents attended the ceremony at SMU’s McFarlin Auditorium. He will intern at King County General Hospital in Seattle after spending a few days with family in Brady and Marshall.

Petition Sought For Brady Wet-Dry Election
An application for a petition to call a wet-dry election in Brady has been filed with McCulloch County Clerk Ira Turner. Signatures equal to 28 percent of the 1964 governor vote are needed within 30 days for certification, then the Commissioners Court will schedule a vote within 20 days of presentation.

Miss Ruby Brown Dies in Mason Co Home Tragedy
Miss Ruby Brown 67 lifelong Mason County resident was found dead at her Fly Gap home. A 30-30 rifle lay nearby and Peace Justice Willis Birk ruled death from self related wounds. Born January 3 1598 in Mason County she belonged to Primitive Baptist Church. Services were held at Austin Street Church of Christ with burial in Brown Cemetery. Survivors include brother O M Brown of Mason and two sisters Dora Brown of Mason and W J Laman of Artesia NM.

Twenty two hopefuls were named as contestants for Miss Heart of Texas at the 1965 July Jubilee. The winner will be chosen by popular vote during the pageant night at 8 p m July 1. Advance ticket sales are encouraged at 1 for adults and 50c for students with gate prices at 1 25. Voting uses the back of the ticket signature method and each contestant brings a future queen and escort. A campaign rally at Bulldog stadium June 26 will feature campaign managers and special guests pending confirmation.
