Truck Driver Charged In County Court
James Willard Padgett of Macon Georgia was charged with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle after his trailer truck collided with a pickup driven by Jerry Lynn Probst nine miles south of Brady on U S 87. Padgett, injured, remains at Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital along with Kinley Sorrells. Probst and the passenger were treated and released.

In a short Thursday meeting at 10 a.m. the County School board trustees voted unanimously to annex the Melvin County Line Independent School District into Brady Independent School District. The meeting adjourned immediately after the vote in the county superintendent's office.
