Texas Interscholastic League Vetera Retires June 1968
Rodney J. Kidd retires in 1968 after two thirds of a lifetime with the Texas Interscholastic League serving as athletic director a decade and director for 20 years. He stood at the helm as pioneers like Roy Redichek and Roy Henderson shaped a major football plan guiding over 1,000 schools. Kidd recalls the nonpaying early years and the pressure of eligibility cases that prompted league rule changes.
