Jerry Sessom, 24 and a 1953 Brady High graduate, was named head football coach and athletic director at Lake View High School in San Angelo. He previously served as assistant coach at AAA Lake View after coaching the Richland Springs Coyotes, and succeeds Gene Henderson who left for Odessa High School. Sessom is from Brady, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Sessom, and brother of Donald Sessom, all noted Brady halfbacks.

City to Seek Easements for SCS Detention Dams
The City Council pledged to press landowners to grant easements for two SCS detention dam sites on the Brady Creek watershed. Officials say easements are essential to finish flood prevention and coordinate the Brady municipal lake project, the last holdouts since 1953 with no success.
