Elmo Colman Jones, 61, of Abilene died when his southbound pickup collided head on with a northbound semi near Brady on U S Highway 377 by the Colorado River bridge. Jerry Brooks, 29, of Alvarado drove the semi. he was treated and released. Services for Jones pending.

Mrs Hays 80 Lohn Resident Dies in Brady Hospital
Jessie B. Hays 80 of Lohn died at 8 a m Tuesday after a brief illness. Services were at 3 p m Wednesday at Colonial Chapel Brady Funeral Home with burial in Marion Cemetery. Born May 13 1895 in Oklahoma Territory she lived in McCulloch County 64 years. Survived by three sons Sam Hays James T Hays and Joe Hays Jr a brother Robert Lee Blaylock three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
