Brady Fans Travel to Abilene for Lifetime State Final

Brady High students and supporters descend on Abilene for a Class AA state final in Fair Park Stadium. Nearly 1,000 advance tickets sold at local drug stores. student tickets 50 cents inside Brady, $2 elsewhere. The team, band, and students depart Friday morning as holiday schedules shift.

Christmas Eve Rites Planned At St. Pauls

Special Christmas services will be held at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Fort Worth at 11:15 p.m. Monday. Rev. John Kelley of Austin leads, assisted by Sam Sizer. Kelley, a seminary student, plans to work in missions in South America. All are invited to attend.

No square dancing classes will be held at St Pauls Episcopal Church Friday night due to the football game. Classes will resume next week on Friday December 28.

Rain Makes Good Christmas Present for McCulloch County

A heavy soaking rain across McCulloch County from Monday night to Wednesday morning brought up to nearly an inch in most areas, boosting stock water and reviving small grain and winter weeds for sheep. Brady reported .95 inch while Fairview, Richards ranch, and several others logged 1.0 to 2.0 inches across local ranches and towns.

The Brady Bulldogs near season end cling to their black and white uniforms and a devoted crew. Punky the mascot travels to Abilene with the team, bus driver C I Simmons also joins all playoff trips, while fans keep wearing the same clothes and Edlin Hahn vows a haircut after the Uvalde game.

Mrs. C. L. Gault dies longtime McCulloch County resident

Mrs. C. L. Gault of Brady, 71, died at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday. Born Sarah May Epper son Sept 16, 1885, in Llano County, she lived in McCulloch County from childhood. Survived by daughter Sammie P. Walton of Guthrie, son Joe B. Gault of Brady, a brother, two sisters, and six grandchildren. Funeral 9:30 a.m. Friday at Wilkerson Funeral Home, burial in Placid cemetery.

Fans plan a welcome parade for the Brady Bulldogs football team after their Abilene visit. They will gather at the three way intersection around 7 30 p m and follow the team bus into town via Commerce Square West Main and China Street to the high school.

Improvements Planned on 3 Local Highways in McCulloch County

The Texas Highway Department will spend 69000 for upgrades on three McCulloch County highways next year. State Highway Engineer D C Greer says the money supplements regular construction and maintenance and aims to move by spring. Projects include seal coat on U S 283 from the Santa Anna intersection to the Coleman County line, shoulder reconstruction on 5.5 miles of FM 42 from the Y intersection south of Brady, and seal coat on 9.2 miles of FM 504 from Salt Gap to near Lohn.

Free Movie Monday at the Texas Theatre

The Texas Theatre will show a cartoon Christmas film free to all next Monday at 10 AM labeled Our Yule Gift. Manager Kay Caywood says the event is the theater’s Christmas gift to trade territory residents and notes Piggly Wiggly cooperation for a second show Saturday at 10 AM with passes to Sons of the Pioneers.

Coleman Bluecats travel to Abilene Friday to watch Brady face Stamford for the state AA championship. Brady officials provided over 40 student tickets at Coleman's request. The Bluecats previously played both Brady and Stamford.
