Lamb Feeding Talk Planned in Brady at Courthouse
A special educational meeting on lamb feeding is set for Tuesday at 7 p m on the third floor of the Brady courthouse. Dr George Ahischwede the extension sheep and goat specialist will discuss rations health and management with emphasis on lamb feeding. Jerry DeBord county extension agent urges all sheep producers and interested persons to attend sponsored by the Livestock Committee of the Program Building Committee.

Spokesman Says We Can't Afford School Bond Issue
McCulloch County Taxpayers' Association studies show the $4 200 000 school bond would raise tax bills for a Brady area home of 20 000 market value to 352 72 without homestead exemption and 340 12 with exemption. Per acre taxes on dry stock and irrigated land would rise to 1 55 and 4 59 respectively if the bond passes.

Judges Put Tape To Beard Growers Declare Winners
Three dairy winners were named in the beard growing contest at Taylor Phillips Barber Shop Tuesday night. Judges Mrs Linda Willis Mrs Barbara Smith and Mrs Brenda Swenson measured 18 contestants before crowning Mark Miller for the longest beard. Orville Wright won shaggiest heaviest and plans to keep it, while Joe King was named nearest beard. Several men promptly shaved their facial hair free of charge after the judging.

Strickland Is Relieved Of Duties As Brady Police Chief
Brady council votes 3 to 1 to terminate Police Chief Bill Strickland effective immediately. Sgt. Charles Thomas named acting chief pending selection of a permanent successor. Strickland served as chief since October 1972 after Dorman Gibbs resigned.

Brady Independent School District patrons will vote Tuesday on a 4.2 million dollar school improvement bond and a maintenance tax up to 1.50 per 100 valuation. Propositions require a majority for bond issuance. Polls run 8 am to 7 pm at the High School lot and Melvin Center. any resident with a valid certificate may vote.
