Three Farm to Market Road Projects Planned in McCulloch County

The Texas Highway Department will spend nearly $500 000 over two years on three farm to market road projects in McCulloch County. Plans include extending Farm R 504 at Lohnworth to FM 765, extending FM Road 765 east from Fife to US 387, and constructing a new Bear Creek bridge on FM Road 2028 at Simpson Lake. The projects total about $300 000 for the FM 765 extension and $70 000 for the Bear Creek bridge, with district officials noting funding depends on right of way access and availability.

Treasure Hunt Set for Shoppers on-an-Inain Saturday

Bridge closure and city notices on West Commerce Street

The West Commerce Street bridge will close to through traffic on January 4 as a new one lane bridge is built to widen U S 87 to the three lane configuration. Traffic detours will route U S 27 via North Bridge and West White Street. The city plans 30 days notice for street light removals and curb drainage work to begin.

Siren Means Fire Prompted by Brady Volunteers Move to curb

The Brady Volunteer Fire Department will discontinue its fire siren drill nights and urges motorists to pull over to the curb when the siren sounds. Jasper High School fans will run a train to Temple for the Friday game with Brady. Principal J. M. O Bannon expects 500 or more on the train and others will drive. The Jasper team arrives in Temple Friday and plans an overnight stay as Temple anticipates a near sell out crowd.
