San Angelo Eyes Stacy Dam Site

San Angelo files a presentation with the Texas Water Commission to study the feasibility of a Stacy Dam at about 18 million dollars. The project would supply municipal and industrial water and may require broad cooperation from water users in McCulloch Coleman Concho and Runnels Counties. The site lies downstream from Lake Nasworthy near the Concho River where the four counties meet.

Official highway maps for every state including Hawaii and Alaska are now at the Chamber of Commerce office. They are free for the asking if anyone is planning a trip, said manager George Purcell. Most maps issued in the last few weeks are 1064 editions.

The Brady City Plan discusses future school needs, site sizes, and locations. It calls for increasing elementary sites to about eight acres, junior highs 15 acres with 500 to 1,000 students, and senior highs 1,000 to 2,000 students where feasible. Little League Officers Meet Thursday Night

The Little League Baseball Association calls a 7:20 p.m. meeting at Rich ards Park field on Thursday Sept. 3 to close the year. Managers assistants umpires officers sponsors and parents should attend as new officers are elected for the 196% season and possible Texas Teen-Age Baseball Association joining is discussed. Mrs J A Anders Dies After Illness in Brady Hospital

Mrs Florence Anders, 83, died at 5 30 am Wednesday at Brady Hospital after eight days as a patient. Funeral services were held at Wilkerson Chapel at 3 pm Thursday with Rev Li Grimes officiating and burial in Live Oak Cemetery. Born February 15, 1884 in Sprinkle. family lived in Katemney and moved to Brady in 1939. Survivors: husband J A Anders. son Roderick Smith of Natchitoches. daughter Mrs Clarence Bell of Brady. two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. two stepdaughters Mrs Jo Nell Rogers of Big Spring and Mrs Marie Brown of Corpus Christi. two stepsons Harris and A J A Anders Jr of Dallas.

Touch Calling Telephone Debuts in Wadeworth Exchange

A new touch calling telephone with 16 pushbuttons replaces the rotary dial in the Wadeworth exchange of Northern Ohio Telephone Co. The device, developed by Automatic Electric Co. for GT and EE, speeds dialing and is tested locally with limited customer trials. An automatic electric pushbutton pay phone is also shown in the downtown area.

Edmiston Jr. Receives Master’s in Education at Sam Houston

Edgar L. Edmiston Jr. earned a Master’s degree in Education during graduation exercises at Sam Houston State College in Huntsville. He has taught in a Houston high school and will become a counselor next school year. The Edmiston family visited Edgar, his wife, and son Robin in Houston after the ceremony.

Brady Half Day Schedule For Four County Schools

Four McCulloch County schools Brady Melvin Rochelle and Lohn start half day or full day schedules on Monday with bus routes adjusted. Brady operates half day with 11 a.m. return buses. Melvin and Lohn go full day with lunches. Rochelle buses run late and dismiss at 2 30 p.m. Regular classes resume Tuesday. Brady cafeteria opens Tuesday with lunch at 30 cents and tickets sold by principals. Mrs Minnie J Robinson and Mrs Delia Gordanier traveled to Lubbock to visit their children and stayed in Brady last Sunday. Robinson stayed with son and daughter in law Nelson Robinson and three children in Slate. Gordanier visited Mule Shoe with son in law and daughter in law Guy Edwards. The group visited Howard Smith and Kenneth in Lubbock on Wednesday.

College Station visitors return after week with Bodenhamers

Here From College Station Mr. and Mrs. Greg Dye of College Station returned home Wednesday after spending a week here as guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Bodenhamer. Greg is a veterinary student at A&M University.
