Brady Bulldogs win Class A regional track title in Brownwood
Brady High's Bulldogs dominated the regional meet scoring 33 total in field and track events to capture the Class A crown. Vernon Ryan set a new discus record with 154 feet 10 inches while Bobby Weise was runner up. Tracy Byrd and Winston Beoker led in shot put. Hollis Gainey of Colorado City set a 220 record and Gainey led with 103-4 high points.

More Football to Be on Television But Colleges Still Under Control
Colleges will see more football on TV next fall with eight national games and three regional broadcasts. The plan permits regional broadcasts on selected dates, allows two regional games per date if not on national days, and lets sellouts enable local telecasts under NCAA rules. The approach aims to boost coverage without harming other games and preserves college decision making.
