Florida star Henry Camp nearly toppled Sewanee’s lead in the broad jump while a misfire cost Florida a victory in the first 100 yard dash. Helvey of Sewanee set a discus mark of 132 feet 2 1 2 inches despite headwinds. This meet closed Florida’s 1927 track season.

Convict James Williams Recaptured in Charleston
An escaped prisoner known as James Williams alias Joe Turner and Johnnie Green fled a road camp near Havana on March 6. He is believed recaptured in Charleston South Carolina and will be returned without extradition. Williams had a five year sentence from Duval county for breaking and entering.
