Brothers Back Home After World War II Reunion
Rex C. Biggerstaff and James A. Biggerstaff returned from overseas to Treasure Island and home on leave. Rex, a Seaman 1st class with four combat stars, fought at Iwo Jima and other battles. James, a Seabee, served in the Southwest Pacific with four battle stars and participated in Guadalcanal the Admiralties Fiji and the Philippines. Both men earned additional training in masonry and business studies.

Shockley Returns From Europe Aboard Queen Mary
Staff Sgt. Kenneth E. Shockley arrives in Bowie after service in the European Theater. He left December 26, 1944 and returned September 10 aboard the Queen Mary with 15 60 troops, earning three battle stars and a Presidential Citation.

Funeral services for Jay Mills held near Stoneburg
Funeral services for Jay Mills aged 30 were conducted Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery near Stoneburg for the auto mobile oil truck collision near Nocona on Tuesday. Mills lived southwest of Nocona with his parents and worked for Bass and Dillard in the Hildreth Oil Fields. He was driving the car and no one else was injured.

Deep Oil Pay Extends From New Lawson Well
The R. Dillard J. T. Lawson No 1 wildcat extends the Hildreth pool three and a half miles north in Cooke County Texas. Gas and oil flowed in rapid tests, indicating a new conglomerate pay possibly forming a new producing layer. The Stephens Petroleum Co plans a large Texas program and recently acquired 890 acres from O B Leidecker, aiming to expand into Young Jack and Montague counties.
