Bowie High School fans will enjoy a Thanksgiving football game as the Bowie Swamp-Rabbits host Henrietta in a Friday night showdown at 7 30 at the Bowie athletic field. Bowie, led by Pier Campbell, features Rex Wesson Carl Achiel Glen Nichols and other alumni against a Henrietta squad drawn from their high school. Proceeds support the American Legion and Bowie High School athletic fund.

Miss Fern Simmons of Bellevue convalesces at the Hospital after a major operation last Thursday. Ben O. Collins Jr. had tonsils removed earlier this week, son of Mr. and Mrs. Collins of Alvord, formerly Miss Marjorie Thomas. W M Dishman of Bellevue improves after several weeks illness. Mrs Ruth Yates of Saint Jo underwent a major operation Tuesday after hospital admission Sunday. Mrs H W Nunley admitted for peritonitis treatment. Mr and Mrs J D Ashburn welcomed a son, David Luther, born last Thursday weighing eight and a half pounds.

El Roy the Magician will present An Evening of Magic on December 2 at the high school auditorium under Bowie P T A auspices. Le Roy Neal from Denton will perform after funding his show through school practice in 16 counties and 200 schools and lodges have seen his acts. He features Haba Yiaba El Diablo the man with the iron skin weighing 270 pounds. The act includes fire eating molten wax walking a ladder of saws and dancing in a box of broken glass. A small admission fee will be charged.

The MacDowell Club presents the first concert of its Musical Art Series on December 12 at the ub room featuring baritone William Hales and pianist Dorothy Ellen Ford. Scout Band Wins Third Prize at District Merit Badge Show

Resident of Bow Passes After Lingering Illness
Funeral services for W. C. Sauls were held Tuesday at Burgess Funeral Home chapel with Rev. B. B. Breitenhirt officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Cemetery. Sauls, born in Monticello Mississippi in 1859, lived in Bowie 20 years and was a farmer and cattleman. He is survived by his widow, a daughter Mrs J J Richardson of Bridgetown Texas, a grandson and a great grandson.
