Honey Welch the Saint Jo native and longtime Wichita Falls entertainer traveled to Nashville Tennessee for a Lin label recording session of his own songs. Welch is son of Mr and Mrs Doc Welch and a 1958 Saint Jo high school graduate. Approximately three quarters of insured property losses from Hurricane Beulah have been adjusted by the American Insurance Association. Frank I Lewis noted insurers and adjusting firms rushed hundreds of adjusters to South Texas to speed claims as temporary offices opened in Harlingen and Corpus Christi in September. Flooding hindered adjusting for ten days after the hurricane.
Miss Linda Rhoades, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Rhoades of Post Oak, to wed Joe H. Van Vadter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leighton Van Vadter of Stoneburg, in spring. Linda is a Midway High School graduate and works at The Cross Timbers Veterinary Hospital in Bowie. Joe is a Gold Burg High School alum and studies at James Connally Technical Institute in Waco.
Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin Duff aged 60 were held at Ringgold Methodist Church with Rev. W D Craig and Rev. David Milam officiating. Interment followed at Ringgold Cemetery. Duff died Sunday in a Fort Worth hospital. He lived in Chico ten years and worked in oil fields as a pumper and as a cattleman. Survivors include his wife Lila three sons three daughters mother and four sisters and four brothers and eight grandchildren.
Mr and Mrs Robert Thompson of Alvord announce the engagement of their daughter Barbara Ann Sigler to Thomas Lee Robinson son of Mr and Mrs Lewis Robinson of Celina. Both are seniors at North Texas State University Denton and the couple plans a January 27 wedding at Alvord Baptist Church at 8 PM with a reception in the church fellowship hall.
