King Ben Chappel crowned at North Texas State College Carnival

Montague county voters largely rejected all ten proposed constitutional amendments with a decisive statewide trend toward defeat. R. B. Anderson of Vernon defeated W. J. News from Bowie reports the death of Mrs. T. C. Gibbs 73 sister of John B Hunt. She died last week in Huntsville where she had lived for years and was prominent. Her late husband was a former Huntsville mayor. Four daughters survive. She was active in the Methodist Church for many years and was beloved in Bowie on several visits.
