City Council Approves Street Grader Purchase and Audit
At Monday night’s meeting the City Council voted to buy a new street grader from George Equipment Company of Dallas for 8260 with trade in of the old caterpillar grader. The council also employed James P. Williams of Dallas to conduct the annual audit and exercised the option to liquidate sewer bonds numbers 24 to 48 due 1958 to 1961.

Drilling Continues For More City Water Supply
Work continued Thursday on a new well in Pelham Park in search of additional water for Bowie. Crews believe a strong well exists after finding 22 feet of water sand at about 374 feet and will seek a deeper, likely richer layer around 540 feet. Plans call for drilling another well on Watson Place two miles north of Bowie as more good wells have been drilled.
