Souvenir From World's First Bale Cotton Sent To Bowie Banker
Hoy Coffield, president of the First National Bank of Bowie, received a souvenir bale of cotton made from the first bale of 1938. The cotton was grown by a Mexican near Rio Grande City, compressed in Corpus Christi, and used to create snail souvenirs.
