Denton Creek Watershed Project Underway With Dam Builds
The Denton Creek watershed project awards contracts to Campbell Corporation for Sites 1B-1 1B-2 and 1F and York Construction for Site 1A to build four flood water retarding structures. A second trio of dams including a sediment control dam will be awarded this month. The plan aims to cut flood damage by 400000 dollars annually and includes channel work gullies treatment and 42 flood prevention dams along with 59 sediment controls in Montague County. Sponsors are the Upper Elm Red and Denton Wise Soil and Water Districts and the Montague Wise and Denton County Commissioners Courts.
