Bowie Manufacturing dedication attracts crowd despite storm
More than 1,900 people braved heavy rain and wind to attend the Bowie Manufacturing Company open house on the Stoneburg highway. J. M. Haggar cut a waistband with gold scissors, assisted by Mayor J. A. Spears. Ed Haggar announced 180 workers with more to come as operations expand. The event featured plant tours, radio coverage on KBAN, and a presentation of Bowie News extras.
