Texas Leads in Cattle on Feed as Iowa Gains Ground
Texas remains the nation’s top cattle feeding state with 2,163,000 head on feed on May 1, while Iowa shows 2,003,000. Nationwide the seven major states total 9,391,000 with a 3% monthly drop and 6% year over year rise. Wheat harvest begins in Texas with a projected 26 bushels per acre and an 83 million bushel crop. citrus output forecast at 18.9 million boxes, up 26%.
