The Bowie School Board held a called meeting last Thursday approving several hires. R L Fite was elected assistant coach for Bowie High School, replacing Millard Massey who left for a head coaching job at New Boston. Fite brings ten years of coaching and teaching experience and moves to Bowie in August. Charles C Easterwood was named to replace Virgil Rahn as counselor at Bowie High School, holding a Masters in Counseling from East Texas State. Joe Prater, a Bowie High School graduate and noted athlete, was chosen as Junior High School coach with a B S from Texas Wesleyan and Marine Corps service due to end in August. General Manager Garment Co to Interview Job Applicants Here
Women who applied for jobs with the Dallas garment company seeking to build a Bowie factory will interview with the general manager in Bowie next Wednesday July 14. About three hundred applied after chamber ads. plans include a new building with architectural work by Roy Sanders Jr and local committee coordination. Meanwhile thieves looted the Bowie Ice Plant between 1 and 2 am, grabbing the safe containing $95 and a 5 cent piece. The safe was damaged, rolled 25 feet, and moved to a truck. tracks led Sheriff Tom Lindsey and City Marshal Bill Meyers five miles west to the demolished safe. Papers inside but no money recovered.

Alfalfa Irrigation Demonstration At Sunset Farm
