S. S. Wines, 74, longtime resident, died Monday afternoon at his Bowie home after a sudden heart attack. Born February 19, 1868 in Missouri, he moved west in 1892 and lived in Bowie four years. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. B. B. Breitenhirt officiating. Pallbearers were T. H. McNatt Bert Hipp Virgil Greenhouse and Bruce Musgrove. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery under Burgess Funeral Home supervision. He is survived by his wife Etha Wines four sons Noah of Bovina Charles Apha and Harlan of Memphis four daughters May Badgwell Martha McNatt Ruth Musgrove Bertha McDaniel of Sterley Texas and 17 grandchildren.

Rex Beard Jr a 19 year old known as the paper sack bandit was sentenced to ten years for the First National Bank of Bowie robbery and ten years for the Nocona bank robbery. He had admitted guilt in both cases and pleaded for leniency due to his youth. Bowie Youth Injured Friday in Bicycle Crash
Lowell, 19, of Bowie and employee of Evans Motor Company, was critically hurt Friday night when his bicycle struck a truck backing from the curb on East Tarrant Street.
