More than fifty athletes compete as Bowie and Decatur schedule a practice meet in Bowie Friday at 3 00 pm. Bowie aims for a stronger team and plans to enter the Possum Kingdom Relays on Saturday March 12 with Roy Curry coordinating. Coach Mattingly expects Raymond Clements and Poostus Bradley to score for Bowie.

Bowie high school girls basketball defeated Decatur 70 to 50 on a neutral court in Jacksboro to clinch the district championship. Linda Campbell sparked the comeback with 14 points and Carol Ann Smith scored 47 as Bowie led 30-22 at halftime and 52-37 by the third period. They advance to bi district play against Seagoville on Tuesday March 1 at 7 30 pm in Denton High School Gym.

Husband of Bowie Lady Killed in Car Crash
